RETREAT

Our semi-annual weekend retreat with Leonard Marcel roshi is coming up October 26-27. It is an interfaith retreat consisting of silent sitting, two talks by and interviews with Leonard Marcel, a short work period, and a potluck lunch. Half-day Sit

September’s half-day sit will take place on Sunday, September 30, 1:-4:30 PM. As usual, it will be held in St. Helens Hall of Trinity Episcopal Church, 231 NW Idaho, Bend, OR. This event is open to silent practice from any tradition, with a Zen format. Come for all or part; snack foods are welcome.

CORRECTION--AUGUST HALF-DAY SIT

August 26: the scheduled half-day sit will not take place at Trinity Episcopal, but will be an outdoor sit near Devil's Lake, in the mountains about 30 minutes from Bend.  For information or directions, contact Tom Wykes, wykes@bandcable.com.

SUMMER AFTERNOONS

Our half-day sits for the summer will be held on July 22 and August 26, 1-4:30 PM, at St. Helens Hall of Trinity Episcopal Church in Bend, OR.  As usual, it's a free, interfaith event; come for all or part.  Finger foods are welcome for the refreshment break.  For information, contact Tom at wykes@bendcable.com.

June's half-day of mindfulness will be Sunday, June 24, 1-4:30, in St. Helens Hall of Trinity Episcopal Church in Bend, 231 NW Idaho, Bend (entrance on Broadway).  All silent meditative and contemplatlve practitioners welcome.  This is, as always, a free event.

Weekend Retreat

Our semi-annual spring retreat will take place at Higher Ground, in Bend, Oregon, from the evening of April 13 through April 14.  This is an interfaith retreat, co-sponsored by Bend Zen, Open Sky Hermitage and HIgher Ground, and led by Leonard Marcel of Seven Thunders, Portland.  This silent retreat consists of sitting meditation, walking meditation, two talks (one inspired by the Eastern, the other by the Western traditions), interviews with the teacher, a short work period and a potluck lunch. 

The recommended donation is $50; some scholarships are available.  At present it's sold out, but there is a waiting list; if interested, contact Denise, dsfainberg@yahoo.com.
